Eucalyptus sideroxylon 'Rosea'
Red Ironbark
Description
This evergreen tree quickly reaches 40'-60' tall and 30' wide. It has slender, lance-shaped, evergreen, blue green, fragrant leaves found on somewhat pendulous branches. Foliage changes to a bronzy color in cold weather. Fluffy pink balls appear on tree in late spring and fall. The bark is a deep red-brown color and rough; with maturity, it exfoliates to expose a smooth reddish brown color. This tree needs full sun and tolerates coastal conditions, wind, urban pollution. It does best with well draining soil and can become drought tolerant when established.
