Description

This is an upright shrub that slowly grows 6'-8' tall and 6' wide. Bark is a beautiful purple color with gray green foliage and pink flowers during late winter and early spring. Hummingbirds are wild about the flowers. This shrub tolerates clay or loamy soil. It also tolerates heat but does not do well with fertilizer. Plant in full or part sun. This evergreen plant also attracts bees and butterflies and other birds.

Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.
